Cultural Heritage Restoration

Metal Wood Stone Bronze

The Ateliers Saint Jacques rebuilt the Royal Gate of the Palace of Versailles which was destroyed during the French Revolution of 1789.This royal gate separates the court of honor from the royal court. It defined the edge of the castle at the end of the 17th century for less than a century since it was destroyed during the French Revolution.

Between 2005 and 2008, the new grid was rebuilt by Ateliers Saint-Jacques. It required the use of 15 tons of iron and 100,000 gold foils.
