TRUDON

Candlemaker

Trudon's Legacy

Trudon stands as the world’s oldest candle maker, tracing its origins to Claude Trudon’s shop on Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris in 1643. By 1719, it earned the exclusive title of Royal Wax Manufacturer, crafting candles for both the French court and the church. These candles illuminated the Imperial Court, symbolizing refinement and luxury, and earned Trudon a gold medal at the 1889 World Exposition.

For centuries, Trudon’s name has been synonymous with unmatched quality, timeless design, and an enduring commitment to excellence. Today, the House continues to innovate, blending heritage with modernity to produce candles recognized worldwide for their quality.

The Art of Candle Making

Trudon’s candles are the result of precision and savoir-faire honed over centuries. In its Normandy workshop, every step, from hand-setting wicks to pouring wax and achieving the perfect finish is executed with care and expertise. Each candle is a testament to tradition, packaged with the House’s signature emblem as a mark of its craftsmanship. The result is a candle that burns clean, long, and evenly, delivering an unmistakable presence that honors its historic legacy.

Signature Collaborations & Commitment

Trudon’s savoir-faire is reflected in its collaborations with iconic luxury houses such as Valentino, Balmain, Jacquemus, and the legendary Orient Express. Beyond its role in high-end design, Trudon actively champions environmental responsibility, leading efforts to protect the Orne Dark Bee in Normandy, an essential part of its broader conservation mission.

This commitment grounds the brand’s work in a deeper purpose, proving that true luxury respects both heritage and nature. By blending artistic innovation with sustainability, Trudon creates candles that are not only timeless but also relevant to today’s world.
