HORUS

Faucets & Bathroom Fittings

History

Specialised in luxury bathroom fittings, Horus designs and manufactures faucets and accessories for architects, interior designers and prestigious hotels, drawing on more than four decades of French craftsmanship.

The story began in 1960, in a modest workshop in Ottrott where founder Gilles Nortier, a self-taught artist and passionate falconer, first put his manual talents to the service of exceptional craftsmanship. A commission from King Fade for a solid-gold faucet led him, in 1978, to create his own company, which he renamed Horus in 1981, after the falcon-headed god, to embody power, humility and creative intuition.

After difficult years following Gilles Nortier’s departure, the Maison was revived by François Retailleau, who returned Horus to the excellence of its retro faucet savoir-faire and equipped more than 500 of the world’s finest palaces and hotels. In 2019, Horus joined the Kramer WTS Group led by Manuel and Tristan Rodriguez, and in 2020 was awarded the prestigious Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV) label.

Savoir-Faire

Horus has the rare particularity of being both an artisanal house and an industrial company. With its own design office, foundries, machining stations and internal hydraulic and acoustic laboratory, the Maison controls every step of production, from the first sketch to hand assembly.

Manufactured in Obernai, Alsace, every faucet is cast in-house, precision-machined, polished and finally hand-assembled by the Maison’s most experienced teams. Horus also offers one of the widest ranges of decorative and PVD finishes on the market, allowing private clients, architects and decorators to personalise every collection, from the Classic and Contemporary lines to the Concept hydrotherapy program, and through bespoke commissions developed by Horus Studio.
